Bulgarian mill plans revamp
Pirinhart is planning a series of capacity expansions at its pulp and paper plants in Bulgaria. The upgrade program was due to start during a maintenance shutdown in August. The Bulgarian producer aimed to raise the plant’s unbleached kraft pulp capacity from 200 tonnes/day to 300 tonnes/day following the rebuild.
The mill’s only paper machine was also due to undergo the first phase of a series of revamps in August. The company hoped to raise the PM’s kraftliner and testliner capacity from 250 tonnes/day to some 350 tonnes/day.
The second stage of the PM project is penciled in for December. Further work has already been planned for 2002.
